L’indispensable logiciel multimédia VLC, utilisé par de très nombreux Freenautes pour ses qualités et pour la lecture des chaînes de télévision Freebox TV en multiposte, se dote d’une nouvelle version majeure.
Toujours conçu par l’association VideoLAN et distribué selon le principe de l’open source, VLC 2.0 (nom de code “Twoflower”) apporte une quantité impressionnante de nouveautés, comme la lecture des disques Blu-ray (fonction expérimentale), un décodage plus rapide sur certains processeurs (utilisation du multi-coeur, de la carte graphique, des processeurs mobiles…), le support de nouveaux formats, ou encore une nouvelle interface pour la version Mac.
Au total, l’équipe et les volontaires ont travaillé sur la résolution de plusieurs centaines de bugs connus.
